Volunteer

Cedar House is a Registered Charity, and as such we rely on volunteers for most of our staffing. We are funded by donations, grants and gifts.

Volunteer Welcomers

Welcomers are often the first person a client speaks to or sees when they contact Cedar House. Responsible for answering the phones, and greeting people when they come into Cedar House, the welcomers play a vital role in the smooth running of Cedar House. If you have 3 or 4 hours a week to spare, and would like to do something rewarding with your time, then we would love to hear from you.

Volunteer Counsellors

If you are a therapeutic counsellor, trained to diploma level or above, and would like to volunteer to work in a varied and challenging environment, then we would love to hear from you. We work from a person-centred basis, but other therapeutic models have been successfully integrated into our practice. Cedar House is an organisational member of the BACP, and we expect all our volunteer counsellors to abide by the BACP ethical framework.
